Notice regarding Coronavirus and the 2020/21 Tourism Season
The Board of Directors of the Albert County Tourism Association met (via digital means) to discuss how our association should address our members about this destructive, world-wide pandemic.
We first of all want to support you in keeping you, your loved ones, and community members safe. Our health comes first, and we support the measures that are being recommended by the Province of New Brunswick and the Government of Canada. We will continue to forward these recommendations to you as we receive them. We are in a State of Emergency, and we ask that you take that seriously and practice social distancing and stay at home as much as you can.
What is ahead for us for the 2021 season is an unknown, however We will adjust where we can, and along with Tourism New Brunswick, will be focussing on close-in visitation, Canadians within driving distance and New Brunswick residents enjoying “staycations”.
Even through this difficult time, we are confident in the long-term prospects for our region, and our Board and Executive are committed to representing your interests in matters to do with economic development as it relates to the visitor economy, and to do with the opening of the Fundy Parkway, currently scheduled for 2021. We continue to work with our MP Rob Moore and our MLA Minister Mike Holland, and on matters to do with this and other programs to enhance the wellbeing of our community members.
Please stay safe during this period, and let us know if we can assist or support you in any way other than sharing information as we receive it.
